The Legends of the Reversing Worlds

The Legends of the Reversing Worlds

The strong currents along the coast of Downeast, Maine sings a daily tune of phenomenon and many scientific sights. The controversial and mysterious place is called Reversing Falls. Reversing Falls exist between the shores of Maine and Canada, and is only one of two locations in the world. Scientist have struggled to conquer the reasoning of this particular phenomenon. Over the years this paradox has killed and injured many fisherman and seeking visitors.
Why am I telling you non-fiction, when this is clearly fictional……Here is my story….
As a child, I remember being aboard on my father’s fishing vessel, as the strong pull of the Reversing Falls, rattled my cage…..I never understood why – Until I listened to my childhood fears and rehearsed them into “THE LEGENDS OF THE REVERSING WORDS.” From there I felt a strong need to plot the stories that hailed me as a child, the stories that visited my dreams. The stories that still yanks on my strings when I visit the ocean. The stories that makes me grab onto the stern when I currently take aboard my families fishing vessels. A story that was meant to be told, only for readers to look at the ocean in a whole new way.
A story inspired by a real place, but this truly is a whirlpool of fantasy, paranormal, and science fiction. A tale that bleeds a story of survival, magic realms, and the legends of the lands below the ocean’s floor. As the characters share the struggles of adolescence, sharing their challenges with bullies and stronger forces. As they search for their inner warrior within fighting only what has perish already, leaves them only to believe in one another and their strengths.
It all began in the late 1800’s - When……
Caroleen sat at the edge of “The Denny’s River," near where the river met the ocean. The strong whipping winds fringed up against every inch of her body burning, like hundreds of ice needles reaching through to the bottom of her frost bit toes. She didn't mind the January's stumble weather, she had a strong need to finish her story, as her hands shivered and shake along the old tethered book that she found in one of the guest rooms of her family's Inn.
The overwhelming voices in her head were driving her mad, the visions of the dark ghost were haunting her every movement, and she needed to put an end to it. She tried to rewrite her creations in the magical book. Just then she was interrupted by the sounds that she could not escape from.
“Miss Caroleen, we need you," a small voice whispered. "There is no time.” A voice grew vaguely through the air, which seemed to come from the glassy ice topping the river. Caroleen climbed through the snow, making it to the river’s boarder. She braced herself, over the snow covered ice. She cleared away the cover cupping her hands to look inside. She strained her eyes, pushing her face closer towards the ice, she saw an image of some sort. What looked to be a face working its way closer to the surface? She wiggled her body across the ice in hopes to get a closer look.
Just then the ice cracked around her, trying to frantically maneuver back towards the snow bank for safety, but it was too late. The surface gave in sending her in the cold waters below. The currents of the ocean’s stream claimed her as its’ own.
The years passed, her family and the town’s people gave up, loosing hope in ever finding Caroleen Grogen. Her disappearance was a true mystery; some wondered if the heavy currents of Reversing Falls had taken her forever.
 Many years later…….
Harper Grogen was drawn to an old hope chest in her parent’s room, an old mystical book sealed with a leather clasp and a stone holding in the many mysteries of the book. She forced the book open only to find the pages were blank, but holding the most powerful key of Pasmaqon. Harper found the stone sent many unexplained images toward her, including the man's face that she saw in the water off from her father's fishing vessel.
Harper finds that her procession has sent her to a world of the unbelievable. The magical lands engulfed her, as she must learn how to use her new found powers and adapt to her new estranged friends ways. Oliver, a gnome like man and Minsty a large fierce but, gentle giant have scorn their image to help Harper on a quest to find Queen Caroleen.
Queen Caroleen shows Harper that Pasmaqon runs deep through her veins. The mystical book has chosen her as the new owner of Pasmaqon, the only problem now is the stone is back in Pasmaqon which means Wizard Tide and his paranormal wolves are hot on her tracks. Harper is up against it and has to use her new inner power to try to defeat the dead. How can you defeat what has already been defeated?
Luckily, when Casen Foller and Alec Prince “Harper’s bullies from school,” follow her through the only leak to Pasmaqon, it steers Tide away from her, but leads her right to Wizard Argon and the powerful Thurropia. Paranormal wolves are hard enough to fight off, try to fight off and outsmart paranormal dragons. Harper was amused at Casen and Alec’s uncomfortableness in her land, but she realizes she needs all the help she can get. She teams up with them to fight off the most powerful force possible. She was not intimidated from the dark lands around her, but unexpectedly found a little romance along the way.
The mysteries unfold as the old tethered book is being rewritten, follow the paranormal anonymities as Harper and the others fight for not only their lives but the ones above the lands as well. Will she be able to kill the dead, protect the unforsaken, and grow into the magical being that she is. No one knows, only the land of Pasmaqon holds the secret and the meaning of the world?

THE LEGENDS OF THE REVERSING WORLDS, is currently going through a editing process to prepare for a suitable Publishing House. For the many months of querying, in hopes of finding the right home. I am looking forward in sharing this series with many middle grade/fantasy lovers.
